Why This, Why Me
I've spent years managing operations for a service business. Scheduling, dispatch, compliance, reporting, process failures at 2pm on a Wednesday when three things break simultaneously and the fix has to happen before the next shift. That experience has nothing to do with websites or software — and it has everything to do with why the systems I build for small businesses actually work.
Most vendors who sell automation and AI tools to small businesses have never run a business operation. They understand the technology. They don't understand what it means to have a process that works perfectly in theory and falls apart every Thursday because of one edge case nobody anticipated. They've never had to explain to an owner why something that should have been automatic required three hours of manual intervention last week.
I have. That context changes how systems get designed. It changes what gets prioritized. It changes what questions get asked before anything gets built. The goal isn't an impressive technical implementation — it's something that runs without anyone having to think about it, handles the edge cases, and makes your operation more predictable than it was before.
On the technical side: I build in Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, React, and Next.js. The AI platform running on this site — the assistant you may have already talked to — is something I built from the ground up. Multi-tenant architecture, vector-based knowledge retrieval, embeddable widget that works on any website regardless of what it's built on. It's not licensed software, not a white-labeled product from a vendor, not outsourced to a development team. Every client's system is built and maintained by the same person who sold it to them.
I'm based in Leander, Texas — which means I'm in the same market as many of the businesses I work with, operating under the same economic conditions, dealing with the same local vendors and local clients. I'm not a remote agency with a Texas area code. I'm here.
